Our Team
Merrill Construction Group is a general contracting firm, licensed and bonded in Nashville, TN, that specializes in design + build services including architectural design and home renovations and remodeling. Founded by Nashville native, Hilson Merrill, Merrill Construction Group has garnered a reputation for providing superior craftsmanship and customer service.
Our projects range from updating kitchens and bathrooms to whole-home renovations. Regardless of the size of the job, our clients receive consistent and detailed communication throughout the project from our experienced and professional team of designers, carpenters, and managers that delivers extraordinary workmanship and attention to detail.
The Founder
Hilson Merrill is President of Merrill Construction Group. Hilson is passionate about providing his clients with the best home renovation experience in Nashville through his unique design/build process. When he isn't working, Hilson enjoys fly fishing, watching Ole Miss football (his alma mater), and spending time with his wife Katherine and two young children.

Tori Grant
Executive Assistant
With over twenty years of experience in Office Management, Bookkeeping, Executive Assistance from the non-profit sector to small business management, Tori is known by her MCG colleagues as “Office Mom” or as “The Mother Ship.” In addition to her Bookkeeping and Office Management duties, she oversees MCG’s Human Resources needs and company outings.
Brandon Keedy
Estimator
With over seven years of experience in the construction industry, Brandon moved from Newport Beach, CA to Nashville and joined the MCG team in June 2022. Brandon is a graduate of The University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science and Urban Planning, Minor in Geographic Information Systems along with a Certificate in Construction Management from UCLA. Brandon enjoys working with the team and crew to perfect the numbers game and improve on future projects.
Morgan Brubaker
Lead Designer
Morgan joined the MCG team in July 2018 and plays a significant role in executing our Design + Build process. Morgan grew up in Geneva, OH and graduated from the University of Cincinnati – College of Design, Architecture, Art, + Planning (DAAP) with a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design.
She enjoys the opportunity to design functional spaces that help clients express themselves through creativity.
Jackie Morris
Director of Operations
Jackie has been with MCG since 2010 and has worn many hats over the past decade. In his current role, Jackie oversees the management of the field crew members and develops the job schedules in coordination with the Account Manager. Additionally, Jackie is responsible for estimating material quantities for framing, windows and doors, exterior millwork. He is a skilled problem solver for all things construction!
Thomas Van Zandt
Account Manager
Thomas grew up in Monteagle, TN and has a degree in History from MTSU. Since 2018, Thomas has played an integral role in helping shape MCG’s process flow and homeowner experience. In his role, Thomas interacts daily with clients and enjoys working on every project from concept to completion.
Katie Shelly
Interior Designer
Katie joined the MCG team in February 2023. Born and raised in Louisville, KY, Katie attended Western Kentucky University, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design. She is excited to be living in Nashville and designing beautiful and functional homes. Her main goal is to work closely with clients to ensure that their personal style is reflected in their home remodel, while making the Design + Build process a seamless experience.

Daniel S. Dunn
Architect
Daniel grew up in northeast Ohio and relocated to Nashville to join the MCG team in December of 2023. Having worked in the field of architecture since 2015, Daniel has gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in residential renovations, additions and new construction. He is passionate about the art and science of architecture and how architecture can be used to serve people and promote human flourishing.
Daniel is a registered architect in the State of Tennessee and a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). He resides with his lovely wife Abbie and their seven rambunctious children. As a family they enjoy storytelling, gardening, music, a sappy movie, but most of all good food!
